Science fiction is a genre that explores science based material. Anything that deals with science from chemistry to robotics to biology... anything with science.

To be honest.. science fiction isn't all that important its just popular. Science Fiction just present intriguing ideas to the public and makes them wonder whether the idea portrayed can be pulled off with science.

Fantasy is exactly what it is, fantasy. Anything unbelievable. Science Fiction is a genre that introduce scientific advances
(whether plausible or far fetched). Science Fiction, to a sense, is more realistic than fantasy and at times is presented with a more serious tone.

I hope this helps you out.
